There is a trend emerging; vic roads is promoting cycling. And even on Top Gear last week, they proved that a bicycle was the quickest form of transport accross London. (followed by a boat and Public Transport).
A wonder feel-good ad, but it still seems to be the latter. The advertising and publicity people promoting cycling but the engineering and design parts of VicRoads still making the assumption that roads == cars/trucks/buses and designing and building roads that endanger cyclists, or building off-road cycle paths more with a view to getting bikes off the roads and "out of the way of real traffic" rather than building them for cyclists.
Please stop talking about the pot of money and actually start doing something with it. We have a State Gov that thinks if they talk about spending money they don't have to actually spend it. There have been numerous press announcements with little results (expect late and over budget) for the last 10 years.
