i got hit by a car traveling at 60km a hour and thrown into a brick wall head first. my helmet saved my life. let idiots like this woman not wear one because we need less idiots like this in the world.i

How about this for a simple idea, let people choose for themselves, rather than make it a legal requirement. Do we have to be nanny-ed about everything?

Utility cycling, she said. Thats the point, if you're racing, or on the highway with cars - wear a helmet. If you are going to the shops and it's a safe route, the choice should be yours. Get people back on bikes and people going somewhere on their bike for utilitarian reasons will become boringly normal.
