It is called artistic cycling, in German Kunstradfahren, an UCI regulated sport mostly practiced in the southern half of Germany, the Czech Republic (the Pospisil brothers were twenty times world champions in cycle ball, another indoor cycle sport, played by teams of two players), Austria, Switzerland, France, and increasingly China.

Germany is the leading nation.

The tyres are tubulars of about 40 mm width. The chain is wider than normal singlespeed chain.

Most German cycles for artistic cycling and cycle ball are built by Walther in Offenburg.

Many parts are not interchangeable with normal bicycle parts, including bottom bracket, cranks and rubber block pedals, all produced in his small workshop. Frames were (are?) built from VERY sturdy tubes of some CrNiVMo "Cronivamo 135" steel of 1500 MPa, 1350 MPa after careful brazing.
