Why can't I take my bike on a country bus in Victoria?

I'm trying to get to the Great Victorian Bike Ride using public transport. They're not making it easy for me:

If you think it's tricky with a bike, try taking some one who uses a wheelchair!

Contact the bus company direct.

Often (but not always) they take a very different stand than V-Line. Having said that, I'm sure they're getting plenty of inquiries regarding GVBR so perhaps they have to tow the line?

V-Line could operate so much more efficiently if it weren't for the passengers and all the sh*t they want to take with them!

VLine unfortunately STILL have a hotch potch approach to carrying stuff on their services. "Stuff" probably also extends to carrying passengers.
