Cycling in Melbourne Australia

If a 7.30 am start sounds achievable on a Sunday morning meeting in Nunawading, I would like to find some more riders who live in the area and are like me looking, for riding buddies to do 60-100 K rides at a good pace but not racing elite! I see loads of riders, alone often like me or in pairs, and small groups heading to the 1 in 20 along Canterbury Rd & Mtn Hwy, or down Springvale Rd to Beach Rd, or out towards Kinglake. Wouldn't it be more fun in a bunch? I'm new to Melb Cyclist so I hope this works! Send me your thoughts. JD

Hi Anyone keen for a quick ride this Saturday morning. Weather is looking promising. I do not mind an early start and will need to be home before 10am.

Hi Marcus, 70 K is a great distance. Last saturday I met a friend with no expectations of where we were going, how far, fast etc we ended up joining a small bunch who really challenged me with pace. 115km into dandenong hills, then St Kilda, and return to Mitcham. Ouch. It's looking good maybe we will build something from this with Hari and friends. Talk soon.

Hari, I have a road bike. I'm also available on Saturday mornings if I get back before 830am. This means an early morning start. Keep in touch

Hi Hari, I live in Glen Waverley. We are not that far off. Should organise a ride on a Sunday. Not sure if I'm ready for a 100km ride but keen to attempt. Did 70km tops.

Hi I live in Wheelers Hill and often ride down springvale to beach road or North to Dandenong on my own or with one friend. I normally ride at 28-30kph on a good day keen to do at least 100km. sunday mornings suit me. I am also keen to get more riders together , better presence on the road and much safer than riding solo.....

Hi I live not too far from Nunawading and will be keen to join you for the 60 -100km ride. I usually ride with a friend and will be keen to have more riders joining us.
Not sure about your definition of a good pace - I average around 25- 27+km/h
