Proper RTB training began for me this year once I'd got my move out of the way. Although I was living 15km out of town in Hobart (when I'd bought the Hobart place, my mum was worried I was "moving halfway to Launceston"), prep for the move to Melbourne and winter weather were cutting training days to about 2 a week. Once I hit August in Melbourne, I was pulling 4 commutes a week on the bike and living 15km from work, just like in Hobart.

Doing irregular shifts, I sometimes get short weeks alternating with long weeks, and this week is the first week I'll pull 6 days in a row on the commute. Despite the tired legs status post on my personal page, I'm on track for a weekly total of 200km, plus a social ride planned for Saturday night.

This week's schedule:
Sunday - In and back via Nepean Hwy - 15km + 15km = 30km (achieved)
Monday - In via Nepean, back via the Bay - 15km + 19km = 34km (achieved)
Tuesday - In and back via Nepean Hwy - 15km + 15km = 30km (achieved)
Tuesday - Test ride of new road bike back wheel - 20km (achieved)
Wednesday - In and back via Nepean Hwy - 15km + 15km = 30km (inward achieved at time of writing)
Thursday - In and back via Nepean Hwy - 15km + 15km = 30km
Friday - In and back via Nepean Hwy - 15km + 15km = 30km
Saturday - light social ride by moonlight, probably 20km

Grand total planned - 234km

I think I'll keep this work rate up for another week and a bit, then taper off and carbo load.

See if you can manage a longer one on the weekend...

No excuses for me, if the road bike's not going I have to pull out the mountain bike ;-)

That sounds like an ace excuse for not doing for the long rides. I think I will use it too. :-)

Reckon this recent blustery spring weather will help to add extra k's to your legs, without having to get a personal wind tunnel!

I am lucky, my commute gives me slightly over 200km for the week.

Just need to go for a couple of longer weekend rides ASAP.

Well, I added the Bay into my return home today, so that's 34km for the day, and all going well, 238km for the week. On the downside, the front wheel has started popping random punctures. Looks like the rim tape's stretched and slipped. A little job for Saturday :-D
