Cycling in Melbourne Australia

Hi all

I've been commuter cyclist in Melbourne for over 5 years and it's great to see more and more cyclists out on the road now.

One thing that has frustrated me as a city cyclist is that bike stores around here still cater mainly for sports cyclists. When I was looking for a basket, I turned up to a couple of bike stores and the bike accessories were in the dusty back corner. Being on a weekend, none of the sales assistants was interested in helping me because they were too busy selling bikes (understandably).

I also couldn't find any functional bike clothing that wasn't flourescent and lycra - but I didn't want to get changed into street clothes everytime I went for a ride.

I'm not sure whether many of you have had the same experiences but out of my frustration, I decided to start CycleStyle, an online store devoted to stylish clothing and accessories for the urban cyclist.

I've imported the best in cycle chic clothing and accessories from Amsterdam, New York, Chicago and London. Now Australian cycling fashionistas can shop quickly and easily for trend-setting cycle fashion in the one place.

That means Australian cyclists can now get their hands on elegant Dutch shopper bags by Fast
Rider
, funky reflective legwarmers by Dashing Tweeds, handlebar bags made from vintage upholstery by Beatrice Holiday, innovative gloves by Freehands Gloves, classic canvas and leather bags by Minnehaha Bag Company and unisex bike-friendly streetwear by Pedaler Clothing.

I hope you like it!
