capital city trail
Hi, Does anyone know if the capital city trail has been joined up from docklands / Footscray Rd yet? I tried to get from docklands over the river without going on the road in about the middle of last year and couldn't due to works. about to go on a ride with my family and 3yr old daughter around the whole trail but don't want to take her on the main roads.cheers, Ed

This blog post piqued my interest so after dinner tonight I took the fixie down to docklands to see for myself.
The answer is.....sort of.
Where I used to ride under Wurundjeri bridge along the south wharf on the southern side of the yarra, along to Crown Casino is still closed for construction for the new Convention centre.
But....they have opened a new footbridge over the Yarra which you can ride over and connect to Crown, then the capitol city trail along the Yarra. The new footbridge is behind the World Trade centre. If you turn into Siddeley St its there.
So technically yes you now can ride from Docklands to the Yarra/Crown, but you will need to cross Wurundjeri Way at some lights to get from Docklands to the new footbridge which is now open.

Just rode it today. The construction is still happening. There are actually two on road detours, one at docklands and the other near Rushall station.

I know that the bridge running over Tulla freeway is still closed. Not sure about docklands bit
