Cycling in Melbourne Australia

Taking a weeks holiday in early Sept, we've booked into a B&B in Oxley which is some lavender farm, looks snazzy in the pics, The MIL has graciously offered to take care of the kiddies so we can have an overnighter. W00T
I admit to having a massive addiction to Brown Brothers wines, yup, as far as I'm concerned you can keep your "so dry, it might as well be a gas" red wine, I'll have something a tad sweeter on the palette thanks, not as sweet as a Botrytis though.
Seeing as the winery is only a suburb away, I can see many a taste taking place, followed by much purchasing, I always say I spend more than I should, but less than I wanted to.
A trip to Milawa wouldn't be complete without heading to the cheese factory (and the small chocolate factory next door) and picking up some cheese and preserves. There is also a Meadery out there, might have to look in there as well, not too sure what mead is, but heard Robin Hood and the band of merry men got smashed on it so I'll give it a crack.

On a cycle related front, I'll be using some time to scope out a Murray to Mountains rail trail ride with the better half, The plan is to have the in laws tag along so Leanne and I can ride the trail while the kiddies are with the in laws, also they can drive our car from town to town.

cool, Thanks for the extra venues, looks like we'll have a pretty full dance card.

Dont forget to stop off at Milawa Mustards either. A sample of their famous Flamin' Hot Chilli will be a memorable experience ! forum smileys

Plus one for Bright Brewry, but probably better saved for your rail trail excursion of climbing that 16km hill to get there.

There's a nice little olive place near the cheese factory as well.

Enjoy Eddie

The NW is a great part of the world, we always enjoy the jaunt up to the mountains in January for the Alpine Classic and extended cheese tour to Milawa.

A tip from the Bloke: try the smoke trout pate.

Also try to get to Bright for the brewery!
