Volunteers needed for new bicycle recycling and repair project

Banksia Gardens Community Centre in Broadmeadows is seeking enthusiastic community members to form a small sociable volunteer team to establish a bicycle recycling and repair hub. The Broadmeadows Bicycle Hub is a volunteer-run bicycle recycling and repair centre. Cape Epic Update 1.



The Prologue



Yesterday (Saturday) was the time trial prologue on Table Mountain, which almost didn't happen because of fires that swept through the course. The scene at registration was pretty interesting with helicopters dropping water bombs not far away.

Hello everyone,



Here's a recap of the awesome three-day Sani2c mountain bike stage race Rich and I did from last Thursday to Saturday. This was our second time at time race. Last year we finished in around 90th position. With a bit more mountain biking experience and a lot more training in preparation for the Cape Epic, our goal was to make a big jump in the standings.

A post for new commuters - get on your bike

With Melbourne fuel prices soaring (almost $1.60 p/litre yesterday) and some commentators tipping the price to reach the $2.00 mark by Christmas, it's pretty obvious that car dependant commuters are going to have to re think a few things.
