Errr.... yeah. The guys doing the double-take at the end aren't looking at the bike - they're thinking, "Who's the tosser riding without a helmet - AND on the footpath"

Pedal brakes? Back in the 70's my first bikes & scooters had them, no doubt the technology & components have improved out of sight. Although I've still got fond memories, as a little kid I though pedal brakes gave me more control, although that's pr…

Hi Ben, thanks for your comment. In Australia the Vanmoof will always have a front hand brake and back pedal brake. Safty is the most importents thing for Vanmoof! Because we think that the design of the vanmoof looks better without the front brake…

hi and welcome . I like the styling of the bike and the "internal' lights but not sure about you statement regarding coaster or back pedal brakes being "a safe and easy way to make a powerful stop" as most of your braking is achieved via the front e…

term “neo-biker”, new bikers that have not ridden on a regular basis since they were kids. Maybe they have an entry level mtb hanging the garage or still have that 10 speed from the early 80’s lying around and want to start leaving the car behind fo…

"Want to" and "Are able to" are two very different beasts vanmoof. However, a mate is (potentially) interested in being a dealer. He'll be in touch very soon, and is very keen to see one in the flesh (as am I, but I don't want to waste your time).

THE ULTIMATE URBAN WAY TO MOVE (AND YET SWEAT-PROOF!)
It is not easy being a city bike. You are outside in any weather, used daily and often a vulnerable victim of vandalism. Moreover, you are a lifestyle gadget that should fit the demanding cool-factor of the modern metropolitan.
VANMOOF was drafted with a focus on functionality and just because of that became an outstanding slick design product. “We were inspired by the good old-fashion Dutch bike”, explains the 28-year old Dutch designer Sjoerd Smit, “we stripped the bike from whims that can only break or cause frustration and added innovation and style”. The result is the first bike that is so smooth that it fits your image and yet so functional it makes you go to work whistling. It is the bike you want to be seen on, the car of the future!
The VANMOOF has a striking aluminum rust-free frame with a highly advanced solar powered LED light system built inside its tubes. To turn them on, you simply wipe the keychain over the frame. Like magic the light will start flashing. These indestructible bulbs are also used for airport landing strips. They are strong and hater-proof.
The bike is lightweight. This means easy to lift but moreover fast to ride. Getting sweaty is not an issue. You can leave your tie on! The coaster brake is great for the city, no more loose hanging cables and it is a safe and easy way to make a powerful stop. The broad steering wheel and classic leather seat top-off the smooth no-nonsense look of this ultimate urban commuter tool. And all this for a friendly consumer price of au $998. VANMOOF: fast, slick and hater-proof!
