"'Cyclist regularly run red lights and motorised traffic seldomly.' In Darwin motorists too regularly run red lights. They're only advisory for some people in this town."

Profile Information

What sort of riding do you do ?
Commuting, Recreational, Whatever
Where in Melbourne or nearby do you live ?
I don't. Fannie Bay, Darwin, is that OK?
Now tell us about your bicycles ...
The Runabout; Avanti Blade 8. My everyday commuting bike, which I ride to work 2 to 3 times a week , a distance of 8km each way.
The Truck/Shopping Trolley; Milanzo Outback, most probably a K mart or Big W cheapey, with a Bob trailer. The bike was given to me when I 1st moved to Darwin (the bike prevented a lime green XR8 falcon, golf clubs and fishing gear being comfortably placed in an apartment garage lock-up, so something had to go, I, happily, gained the bike.. I bought the trailer last year .
A few words about yourself. (This bit is entirely optional!)
'Gran Dad' rode everyday to the local shops to pick up the 'West', the morning paper, the mail and any small, bike manageable, groceries that 'Gran' needed. Bikes have always been a form of transport to me, never a toy.

Gran Dad also taught me to ride when I was about 8. With very rudimentary instructions, on a gentle incline in our back yard in Narrogin, WA. He held my bike while I climbed on. When I was ready he gave me a push and I was off, I did a big circle and stopped uphill. I didn't fall off, but for my 1st ride I coasted all the way to a stop.

Work in progress.
My first bike was a hand painted, red 24" second hand bike. .
