"Coming home from a ride yesterday I saw there were a couple of kids bikes dumped in the hard rubbish on Normanby road, Caulfield (near Inkerman street corner) yesterday afternoon.   There's probably dozens of old kids bikes dumped this…"

I lead and organise the Families on Bikes rides through the Darebin BUG, a series of easy, short rides, especially designed for young children. This Sunday, 9 January, we're going to Kew Traffic School. A friend of mine, here from Sri Lanka for a year - they didn't bring bikes with them - would love to come. A trusty hybrid, a folder for odd occassions and a road bike for long hauls.
What is the best thing about riding?
The wind in my face, the power of my legs and some time to myself.
A few words about yourself. (This bit is entirely optional!)
I helped to co-found the Darebin BUG, teach people to ride bikes through Jika Jika Community Centres, and lead rides designed for little kids called Families on Bikes. I'm a mum of two boys who like cycling, a student, and I love to garden.
