Jodie Burton replied to Pete Gordon's discussion Long distance riding...am I totally dreaming?
"Ah you love it!! S'pose its good to practice in all weathers, nothing worse than doing all the practice in perfect conditions, only to be hit with winds, rain and hail on the real thing!  We had to cycle through minus 25 degrees in China…"

Jodie Burton replied to Pete Gordon's discussion Long distance riding...am I totally dreaming?
"Absolutley, it's all about getting used to being on the saddle, and the associated niggles - sore bum, achy wrists, tight neck and of course the pedalling but that's the fun bit! Coastal path will be lovely, and at least if the prevailing…"

Profile Information

What sort of riding do you do ?
Commuting, Touring, S.L.U.T (Sustainable Low Cost Transport), Whatever
Where in Melbourne or nearby do you live ?
Port Melbourne
Now tell us about your bicycles ...
Two touring bikes, one a Surly Long Haul Trucker and one a Thorn, which carried us 28,000 km from London to NZ. And now take us everywhere in Melbourne! Simply the best way to get around!
What is the best thing about riding?
Independance, freedom and the wind in your hair!
A few words about yourself. (This bit is entirely optional!)
We finished our cycle to NZ last October and then spent 3 months writing a book (A Journey To Leave You With Odd Shaped Balls) about our adventure across 29 countries. Love meeting fellow cyclists and adventurers, sharing stories and tips in what we hope to call our new permanent home one day in Port Melbourne.
