Expats Gone Wild

You live in Melbourne, but weren't born here, and you ride a bicycle for any reason. You might come from Sydney (we forgive you, at least you escaped ;-) or Saint Petersburg, if you ride, you belong here!

not too sure if its been tried, but why don't they block the outside lanes off to traffic on subdays?

From Rotorua NZ, been living in Melbourne for 15 years and am always looking for groups riding beach road starting from the mordialloc end, either heading out to Mt Eliza to St Kilda and back to Mordialloc or just a cruise into St Kilda and back, I mainly ride on sat/sun and start about 8am, does anybody do this ride here?

hi guys I see lots of comments below but nothing about where you are riding to next.  Am I missing something?

well If any one is interested in a ride tomorrow,  my hubby and I are riding into the city from Valda Ave Doncaster, we will be riding on bike paths mainly but via the boularvard which some part of it is on road.  its a lovely ride about 70 KLMs but bail out options if you don't want to ride so far,  Lunch at south bank.  afternoon tea at st kilda. let me know if you are coming we can meet you at Box Hill Rail Station if its easier to find,  cheers people :)  Eileen ps ride pace will be a fast as the slowest rider.

Kriztala- how about this Sunday?

Comment by kriztala on November 23, 2011 at 10:17am

Hi alex-  almost same. I only come from port melbourne instead.  I have braved frankston on my own once but definitely would love to go out more only with people.  Have gone out all the way to sorrento during around the bay in a day (have also done the 250 lot).  I am just starting to ride again. And would love to do something more consistent. I dont fancy waking up early and to only ride up alone.  But I do start around 8am onwards sat/sunday as well. Would you like to ride together one of these days?

Hi Kriztala- I usually ride from Elwood to Mordi (about 42km) but if I'm not solo then have done Frankston and back a few times.

I usually ride around 8 am on Saturday and/or Sunday.

What about you?
