Bicycle Assembler Course

Gearing up to summer all bike shops need additional staff to meet the demands
of cycling public. Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT) in partnership
with the Retail Cycle Traders Association (RCTA) and Bicycle Training Australia
(BTA) offers you the opportunity to undertake a 3 day training program (plus work
experience in selected bike shops) to gain the skills and knowledge needed to
enter the bicycle industry.

The course will be conducted by BTA in a 2 day of training block at NMIT’s
Fairfield campus followed by work experience (spread over 2 weeks) in a bike
shop. The course will finish with 1 day of training back at NMIT.

The course is structured on 3 nationally accredited units and provides a training
pathway to the Certificates for Bicycle Mechanics.

Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to assemble, adjust and test a bike
before sale:

• Remove and tag bicycle components
• Remove repair and fit bicycle tyres
• Remove, replace, fit and adjust bicycle accessories

When: September 5 and 6 (Day 1 and 2 at Fairfield campus)
September 26 (Day 3)
Cost: $100.00 (concessions may apply)
