Information

We meet every Sunday at 08.45am for a ride starting at 9am at Cafe Racer. Riding along Beach Road, [about 25-35km/hr] to Mordy/Frankston. We also do other rides around Melbourne including Climbs (7 peaks), Organised rides (MAD, BAD, Otway, ATB, etc) and MTB . Riding and enjoying a laugh is the focus, so make sure you bring your sense of humour!! Oh, ensure your bike and kit are clean/well maintained - don't want any unnecessary accidents. *If you want to join 9ers, your request will be accepted, but you'll need to do at least 2 rides each month for your membership to be maintained :)

Comment by Patrick O'Brien on July 30, 2012 at 8:27pm: haha Heather, I've been doing the tour guide hing with my mate who has moved over from Ireland and of course I have been putting my liver through hell cos Melbourne really does have some fantastic pubs but I have been aching to go for a ride. Luckily for me he met another willing tour guide one night in crown so Im off the hook for a few days and cant wait to go for a ride...I've been like a lost child!! Im definitely gonna be out sunday morning...cant wait to see Tims new mean machine.

Comment by Tracey Miller on July 30, 2012 at 7:58pm: Hi Patrick ..I mentioned I was going to check out Albert park lake last week for night ride to see what it was like! So long as one has lights on their bike it's fine! I got there at 6:45pm and there was hardly any traffic! A few soccer games going on and obviously the swimming but apart from that I did three laps no wind and the ducks were out of sight! Sure beats being in my wind trained and with the nights getting a little lighter will be a nice evening roll! Tracey

Comment by Heather on July 30, 2012 at 7:18pm: Tracey, good on you for flying the 9ers flag solo on Sunday - shame Miss Pink got grubby - take a leaf out of the "Tim's bike cleaning book" and use the shower for it's other use; cleaning bikes!! And Tim, Ms G got a free wash straight out of the show room! I'll definately be there next Sunday for some 'tyre kicking' and oohing and aaaahing - think I'll have to get in line though, there's a lot of interest - want to see the bling baby!! You'd better put a link on here so everyone can have a pre-look Look! And of course you'll ride faster - they say that in the handbook don't they :)) Yeah, poor me - no riding for a week, but I'm back on the pedals for the commute this week, though the flattie had a few problems today: dropping gears, dropping the chain - and the seat came off - taking her to the bike shop tomorrow 'cause she's done 1000km since the last service, guess that'll do it every time! Oh well, rest of the week on the roadie #2. Miss Ridley is still for the weekends!!! Patrick, you sound like an orphan, maybe with all the new bikes etc you might have to attack Albert Park on your own - think of the stories you can tell!!! Get on board and join the 9ers on Sunday, looks like it'll be standing room only! Scott & Val, honestly you don't want to miss this, and Mark be great to see you again. Comment by Mark Paterson on July 29, 2012 at 11:30pm: No riding all weekend for me. I road in the wet during the week on the commute to work and that was enough for me for the wet stuff. I like my weekend rides to be dry and enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing Tim's new bike. Hopefully will be able to make it on Sunday and also aiming for Saturdays Tenax. (if the weathers dry).
