Cycling in Melbourne Australia
We meet every Sunday at 08.45am for a ride starting at 9am at Cafe Racer. Riding along Beach Road, [about 25-35km/hr] to Mordy/Frankston. We also do other rides around Melbourne including Climbs (7 peaks), Organised rides (MAD, BAD, Otway, ATB, etc) and MTB . Riding and enjoying a laugh is the focus, so make sure you bring your sense of humour!! Oh, ensure your bike and kit are clean/well maintained - don't want any unnecessary accidents. *If you want to join 9ers, your request will be accepted, but you'll need to do at least 2 rides each month for your membership to be maintained :)

Comment by Scott McFarlane on August 2, 2012 at 10:04pm I might try and make it a regular detour once a week or so. I had forgotten about the bollards, they do move fast you know.

Comment by Patrick O'Brien on August 2, 2012 at 1:29am Brilliant twilight ride..thanks Tracey and Tim. Tracey, great idea to ride around albert park..well done! One of the most enjoyable rides in ages
Comment by Scott McFarlane on August 2, 2012 at 12:13am Tracey - took a long detour home via Yarra Boulevard, felt very unfit compared to the time we rode it. The hills seemed twice as hard this time but got some great twilights views of the city.

Comment by Tim on August 1, 2012 at 11:18pm See my idea of cleaning the bike in the shower wasn't so crazy after all, So, just back from the first ever Twilight 9ers ride, wow love the name do you?, no one over taking, a tranquil view over Melbourne and a few stops for the ducks, we did 35ks in an hour, we pushed it to and was a fantastic work out to.Even got a lift back in the 9ers team van, thanks for the ride Patrick and Tracey Who would be up for a Mordy twilight ride once the weather warms up?.
see you all Sunday
Comment by Heather on August 1, 2012 at 8:24pm Hey Tim, have you got the latest Ride On magazine - check out the Winning Tip - it details how to clean your bike helmet --- in the shower!! You better add it to your "Book of Tim's cleaning tips"!
Comment by Heather on August 1, 2012 at 7:42pm Yep, going to be a great night for a ride Tracey: My commute today was fantastic, even missed the fog on the way in. Let us all know how it goes. My flat bar is costing the princely sum of $200 to repair - need a new chain, cassette, seat post, brake pads .. and a service - well worth it though. Looks like we've got a few for Sunday: Latest weather forecast is 16c, mainly fine with 25-30km NW winds. Andrea and Steve it'll be great to see you both, we've almost forgotten what you look like!!
