Cycling in Melbourne Australia
We meet every Sunday at 08.45am for a ride starting at 9am at Cafe Racer. Riding along Beach Road, [about 25-35km/hr] to Mordy/Frankston. We also do other rides around Melbourne including Climbs (7 peaks), Organised rides (MAD, BAD, Otway, ATB, etc) and MTB . Riding and enjoying a laugh is the focus, so make sure you bring your sense of humour!! Oh, ensure your bike and kit are clean/well maintained - don't want any unnecessary accidents. *If you want to join 9ers, your request will be accepted, but you'll need to do at least 2 rides each month for your membership to be maintained :)

Comment by Andrew Crisp on March 17, 2012 at 3:45pm Hi
Just a quick follow up so I know who I'm looking for tomorrow, I'll be wearing a red top and cycling tights(i had to put that in :-D) see you people at 8.45ish
Comment by Heather on March 15, 2012 at 4:57pm Hey Andrea, I sent you an email from Melb Cyclist last night where we can swap phone numbers etc, because I can take you to Otway. If the Willier's not carbon it can go on my bike rack - no problems. If it is carbon it can go in the boot with the wheels removed. Check the email and get back to me :) For anyone else who's going there's a BP service centre at Little River where we can meet - Bob? Steve? If you two are going I'll advise a time. Does anyone want to do the 65km MAD ride at Woodend with me on 1 April? madride.org.au
Comment by Bob Dickins on March 14, 2012 at 8:51pm I won't be there Sunday as I'll be riding somewhere around the Mornington Peninsula.
For the Otway weekend I may (or may not) have a space on the lounge room floor at a mate of mate's house in Geelong. I haven't been down the Geelong Rd for a while but aren't there the twin BPs about half way down. That seems a pretty popular meeting place.
Andrea - Thanks for the tip about the GreenEDGE.. I jumped on their website when I got back on Sunday and signed up as a Domestique. That gets me a Jersey T-shirt, Cap etc etc etc etc which all arrived at the PO yesterday!
Comment by Andrea Newson on March 14, 2012 at 7:02pm *ahem* Heather!!
I have no idea what you are referring to!! (But we are riding from Canberra to Jindy, overnighting there and back on Sunday :-P lol)
Steve: that would be cool - if you end up going that is - hope your hammy gets better first.
My other option is to just hire a car for the day if things fall through - se what conspires :)
Comment by Heather on March 14, 2012 at 6:48pm Hey Andrea, I know why you're not riding on Sunday, and I don't think it has a lot to do with cycling!!! ha ha Steve said he was ok to give you a lift for Otway: Steve - more info?? And I also need to know where is the best place to meet everyone somewhere between Melbourne and Geelong - any ideas anybody? (Somewhere with a loo preferrably)!
Comment by Steve Winnall on March 14, 2012 at 6:43pm Hi all, I'm in for Sunday although I do have a bit of a dodgy hamstring strain darn it. :-(
Andrea, I'm happy to take you to the Otway ride however I'm not 100% sure I will be good to go due to my hami stain. Will discuss with Heather and see if we can work something out.
Comment by Andrea Newson on March 14, 2012 at 6:32pm Geez! Great to see so many people will be out on Sunday!
I won't be there guys sorry!
Had an offer to do a ride from Canberra to Jindabyne and back over the weekend - great training for the Otways lol

Also, Heather, i did read somewhere about hill climbing, and the tip was to raise the steam for the hills, as they do it in the tour de france,
