Cycling in Melbourne Australia
We meet every Sunday at 08.45am for a ride starting at 9am at Cafe Racer. Riding along Beach Road, [about 25-35km/hr] to Mordy/Frankston. We also do other rides around Melbourne including Climbs (7 peaks), Organised rides (MAD, BAD, Otway, ATB, etc) and MTB . Riding and enjoying a laugh is the focus, so make sure you bring your sense of humour!! Oh, ensure your bike and kit are clean/well maintained - don't want any unnecessary accidents. *If you want to join 9ers, your request will be accepted, but you'll need to do at least 2 rides each month for your membership to be maintained :)

Comment by Heather on January 20, 2012 at 6:08pm Hi Tom, welcome to the 9 OClockers!! We're riding Sunday as per usual, come along! Don't worry, I ride from home 20km to get to Racer as does one of the others, and another person spends 1hr on a train then rides from Flinders St to get there - it's all good fun!
Comment by Tom McKain on January 20, 2012 at 5:55pm sounds great, im living in mordialloc at the moment so a lot of back and forth but more than happy to participate. Its been quite some time since I last done a ride of this distance so it'll be good to get back on it :-D
Cute Mark, well this Pome (Prisoner of Mother England) did 96 Klms on Tuesday in 38 degrees uphill to talanghi :) but yes 25 degrees is what I call perfect!
Comment by Heather on January 20, 2012 at 5:19pm Yep, I'm happy for business as usual too. And an Easterly again, wooo hooo!!! Tail wind for the trip home !

Comment by mark divonski on January 20, 2012 at 4:46pm I agree. 31 is not hot for an aussie summer anyway! (perhaps a bit hot for the poms amongs us??!). Not like the 40+ we copped a few weeks ago. I vote we keep 9am personally.
Hi Heather, yes I did see Tims comment, personaly I don't think an hour earlier will make much differance at that time of day since you are finished before the max temperature at around 3pm anyway. as for me 8.00 am is too early as I would need to leave at 5.45am to get there that early. I will look out to see what you all decide. I have other options if you all decide to go earlier good riding Eileen
Comment by Tim on January 20, 2012 at 5:18am Anyone seen the forecast for this Sunday yet? 31. so just an idea we could become the 8 o 'clocker's for this day, and avoid what we got caught in last time.
Hi guys just came home from my Thursday ride, Tuesdays was a killer we went up to talanghi in that awful heat. any how we did the boulervard today as part of our ride. not a bad hill but if anyone is serious about doing a hilly ride I would love to take you all on one, out my way. we would leave lilydale Rail Staition at say 9.00 am either Saturday or Sunday do about 70 Klms taking in a few good climbs (it would be much harder than the boulervard so you will need low gears ) and lovely scenery afternoon tea at my place and you all could jump on the train at mooroolbark back to the city. if any one is interested let me know. good riding to you all :) Eileen
Comment by Andrea Newson on January 19, 2012 at 7:42am Ok...I am putting in leave for the Otway Classic :D Definitely want to have a crack and went and signed up for the 145km as well lol
As for Wildwood - just up the road from my work so even if I am on nights I will be able to make that after work :)
