We meet every Sunday at 08.45am for a ride starting at 9am at Cafe Racer. Riding along Beach Road, [about 25-35km/hr] to Mordy/Frankston. We also do other rides around Melbourne including Climbs (7 peaks), Organised rides (MAD, BAD, Otway, ATB, etc) and MTB . Riding and enjoying a laugh is the focus, so make sure you bring your sense of humour!! Oh, ensure your bike and kit are clean/well maintained - don't want any unnecessary accidents. *If you want to join 9ers, your request will be accepted, but you'll need to do at least 2 rides each month for your membership to be maintained :)

Comment by Heather on January 12, 2012 at 3:40pm: Hi Bronwyn, currently Mark, Alex and I will be doing the 9 OClockers, meeting at Cafe Racer at 9am - we'll just 'wing it' with the possible road closure but I've just checked Vicroads website and there is nothing mentioned there, so it might be ok. See you there? Alex: sounds good to enter a 9 OClockers Team for the Otway, seems only Steve and I are doing the 65km, we might need to re-think! I did the 65km last year too (quite easily) but I'm shaking in my shoes wondering whether I'll get through the 145km, those climbs are scaring me .... Steve, what do you think?

Im considering trying out the 145km otway ride. Usually ride on saturday's but riding partner is unwell at the moment so to get some training momentum mightjoin the 9 o'clockers for a ride. Any update on this weekend's ride given sounds like beach road might be shut?

I did the 65km option last year on my own and did it ok so for you fitter types you'll do it easy!, and yes, there are hills to stop it being boring! There's also the 'real' ride which is 145km which travels along the Great Ocean Road - super hills!, but I'm going to stick to the 65km. Last year my hubby and I stayed at Peppers The Sands Resort on the night before (which is a sponsor of this event), but this time I'll just drive from home on the morning. Also, the entry fee includes the compulsory jersey - bragging rights!!! Maybe between us all we can organise car pooling for those that don't want to drive, or don't have a vehicle. Currently Mark and I are meeting up tfor 9 OClockers this Sunday - anyone else coming?

Comment by Heather on January 10, 2012 at 7:19am: Hi All, I've just checked and there is a triathlon on at Brighton on Sunday 15 Jan 12, but it seems Beach Rd is not going to be closed - I checked the Vicroads website. Anyone still interested in doing the normal 9 Oclockers ride?? It's going to be fine and 29c - how will we cope with good weather !!
