I wanted to share a new software package that I tried out over the weekend. The software is call SportyPal and it uses the GPS from your mobile phone to track your biking.

Anyways, after your workout you can upload the workout to a web account that stores your workouts and shows the track on google maps. You can then share your workouts with all users, only your "friends", or just analyze your performance.

This looks like a similar thing to Everytrail "www.everytrail.com" but with more of a Sport influence. Personally I am using a Garmin Forerunner 301 wrist device with a HRM. (off Ebay about 150 AUD delivered) I expect most would using one of the Polar devices but only the later ones include GPS. Garmin have been migrating users from Motion Based which would have been one of the leading GPS enhanced web based sites. The new enhanced Gamin Connect site has some good features. Here is one of my commutes to work: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/6626622 if you open the player and set to full screen it produces an interesting display (especially my poor performance) sorry my unit does not have Cadence I need to upgrade for that.
Jack.

My SonyEricsson came with 'Tracker', which seems to be a copy of the Nokia 'SportsTracker'. As far as I can see, they all do the same? (Which is cool... and works well on mine).

I havent try the Tracker yet, but as i understand they have pretty much the same feauters. I will stick with soprty for now. And here it's why: For me the best part from sportypal is their community service on their web page, where you can do a deep analyze of your performance or just share it with your friends or simply everybody.
It looks very nice: http://sportypal.com/Public/Workout?workout_id=4869
And usually this type of applications are made for certain type of mobile phones, but another nice thing that i notice, is that this one is available on every type of phone with integrated GPS, which is maybe the best thing because on the community page i can also watch and exchange the tracks with my friends that don't have android. And since i don't have a GPS device, i will use my cell phone for this. :-)

Personally I am using the Garmin Software that came with the Forerunner GPS. The screenshot is from the player feature of the website. I expect you can only upload Garmin tracks to the server as they must be in TCX format. The software will produce statistics in many different ways. www.garminconnect.com

Yes, i tried everytrail and is very similar to sportypal. I'm thinking of buying some type of garmin 305 or 405 in the future, but for now while I have a GPS phone it's ok with softwares like this.
