Cyclist struck by car on Mornington Peninsula Reko Rennie, April 21, 2009 - 9:41AM A cyclist is in a serious condition after being struck by a car on the Mornington Peninsula this morning.
Police said the man, believed to be in his 50s, was thrown into nearby bushes after colliding with the car on the Nepean Highway and Tower Road intersection, Mount Eliza, just after 8.30am.
"He has extensive head injuries and he will be airlifted to hospital shortly," Ambulance Service spokesman Paul Bentley said.
