Cycling in Melbourne Australia
Saw this today on RocketFuel's blog. A new corporate criterium series designed to get workplace teams racing.
Sounds like a good idea to me, anyone here involved ?

Yes, I know plenty about it. I am the promoter and manager of the event, the 2011 Ventou Victorian Corporate Criterium Series.
You are right - the series has been developed to get all those sensational recreational cyclists who ride in big bunches with their workplace Around the Bay, or on Amy's ride, into a club, and racing. Many of them are far better racing than I, and I want them to experience club cycling at its best.
There are three rounds to the series, with each day's racing consisting of a short prologue time trial, followed by a graded criterium against riders of similar ability. Rider's finishing places are awarded points, and accumulated over the Series among all team members to award the title to the winning team.
There are $4,000 of cash & prizes awarded to individual winners, and the champion team. Places are limited to 80 riders on each day of the event. Entry is $50 per event, or $125 for the entire series, and includes a race licence for those that don't have one.
My website www.corporatecrits.com.au has all the details of this years event. Sign Up for newsletters here, ad follow updates on twitter @corporatecrits, or on the Facebook Page- search under "2011 Ventou Victorian Corporate Criterium Series", and 'like' away!
I hope that answers your question! Contact me at rob@cykelevents.com.au if you want more details, or are looking to enter a team. Register online at www.corporatecrits.com.au
There are plenty of sponsors on board, including Ventou, Sukkie, Cyclecover, The Sufferfest, Sharp Pixel, while the Series is being co-hosted by the Hawthorn and Geelong Cycling Clubs.
Cheers
