Melbourne Cyclist

Cycling in Melbourne Australia

I was the cyclist - wearing a yellow lycra shirt - who was hit by a black car on Beach Road, Saturday 19th September. The accident happened at 8.47am on the corner of South and Beach.

The driver's car collided into me at around 60-80 km's p/hr and it landed me in the emergency ward for the next 10 hours. I'm still in hospital.

What I'm writing for is a bit of a plea! If anyone saw this accident- the black car (P-Plater, possibly on her mobile phone- reckon the cops) driving into the female cyclist wearing yellow, please please let me know!

We need a witness report to help get my bike (a total write-off) compensated. Plus, the driver is yet to be charged with anything. .... Which is grossly unfair! She was driving recklessly, unaware and irresponsibly! If anyone can help out- I'd be hugely appreciative.

Cheers guys.

Dear Emma,
It saddens me to read such articles of news.
I wish you a speedy and full recovery and justice will prevail to the wrongdoer.
Were you riding with others at the time?
Richard.
Sorry, I cannot help either. We were out that day too!!!!!

While I can appreciate your frustration with regards to your bike and the fact that the driver AGAIN seems to get scott-free- I hope that you are on the mend and will be up and about very soon.

I will send this post to my cycling friends- hopefully someone saw something!

Take care.
So sorry Emma, all I can send you is well wishes. Sincerely hope you get what you need and wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
