Thank you to all those who have contributed so far and I hope many of you may help spread the word over the weekend to get more folks on board.
I encourage others to consider putting up proposals in the weeks and months ahead - whether it is a national campaign or something to help locally - perhaps match funds for a project at your school or community that might help get a project over the line. Or to fund the development of an amazing idea you have left on the back burner...
And any businesses out there who would like to prime the pump and commit to Go! crowdfunding projects over the year, please get in touch!

Thanks to over 20 members of the Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne Cyclist communities, we have gone over $1300 towards the goal of $2000 - helped along yesterday by one individual who pledged over $500 and others who have gone back and raised their pledge levels!

We are now nearly 90% towards the goal! Just 12 more donors at $20 or 5 at $50 would get us over the top!
Permalink Reply by Omar K on August 26, 2012 at 5:35pm Wow! As a result of the combined efforts of members of the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Cyclist sites we have achieved CPF's target and our first combined crowdfunding initiative in just over two weeks! We have had over 30 contributors including individuals and BUGs.
With fewer than 1% of the members contributing on this one we believe this also demonstrates the opportunity for other projects to appeal to more of the community and for more action to be funded. As a next step, we are working on sourcing funds to be made available to match individual contributions towards future projects.

Over 25% towards the target in less than 24 hours!
This is only the first in what I hope will be more funding requests (and contributions) from the cycling community for everything from promotional activities, cycling guides, bike racks for schools, submission studies, etc. Creativity, compelling and getting the word out are the keys to success. By consolidating under Go! and Pozible we can get a bit of a transaction discount, leverage exposure and I am of course happy to assist anyone in the process.
I am also on the lookout for businesses that would like to commit to be ongoing "angel investors" in projects by committing a certain budget every year to crowdfunding Go! projects. They can either manage selection themselves or have the fund recommendations made by Go! and our Advisory Group. If you know anyone who would be interested please have them get in touch at omar@go-alliance.net.
This is going to be a long term ramp-up so your ideas (and projects) in this process are very welcome.
