Attire - T-Shirt with Shop Branding on it. Black shorts & Full Shoes (ideal if you have branded socks)
Please bring shop branded jersey and knicks if you have them
Equipment –Tour de Cure will provide
- 3 x Cannondale Bikes with complete / fitted wheels
- 3 x cyclist to wheel bike to mechanic
- Tyre Tubes
Mechanics to provide
- Own tools to change tyre* CO2 Canisters (min 3)

Inaugural Australian Bike Mechanic Championships – Competition Details
Round 1 – 8.15am Round 2 - 8.45am Final - 9.15am
Note – All 3 compete in each round and final. The winner of the final is the winner of the competition, the rounds act as warm ups. Times are subject to change given media requirements. Any competition updates will be provided on the day from Tour de Cure.
Competition Details
Area 4m x 6m area in front of stage at Federation Square (sectioned off by balustrades)
Competition
3 Tour de Cure riders will be mounted on 3 Cannondale Bikes at furthest left hand side of stage
All front wheels will be deflated to the same degree
When set (not clicked in) all 3 riders signal they need help by putting right hand in air
Note – this is the key indicator for mechanics who are positioned front and centre of stage.
Starter Gun goes
Cyclist roll on bikes to mechanics positioned in middle of stage (approx 3m)
Cyclist dismount on left hand side (or as requested by mechanic)
Mechanics then…
…take off front tyre…take out tube…replace tube…gas up to 120 PSI (full canister)…assist in mounting cyclist back onto bike…push cyclist on bike (not clicked in) to Boost Mobile Representative holding the Cheque at right hand side of stage (approx 3m)
First mechanic to roll cyclist on bike past the cheque in the Final wins.
Winner will be announced on Kerri Anne and Boost Mobile Cheque + prizes awarded.
Winner to donate Boost Mobile Cheque to Tour de Cure…to find a cure for cancer.
