Ring in spring by joining Beechworth's passionate winemakers on a leisurely cycling tour of the celebrated wine region's vineyards, running four times across spring. The ride is a mostly downhill 15km cycle along a leg of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and vineyard back roads, suitable for the whole family. A local winemaker will pedal with each group, as you cycle downhill, stopping to taste wines that are a vibrant expression of Beechworth terroir.
With a different line-up of four or more cellar doors and vineyards on each tour, the Vineyard Back Road route includes access to wineries, vineyards and back roads not normally open to the public. Enjoy views of the gold rush era streetscapes of Beechworth, surrounding open countryside and hillside vineyards, before stopping for a casual gourmet BBQ-style lunch at Indigo Vineyard. Three of the four tours also finish with a tour and tasting at craft brewery Bridge Road Brewers. A minibus will transfer all cyclists and wine purchases on the uphill return!
